Summer Mixwit

In: Having Fun, Personal

The summer is here and I’m having trouble sitting inside to blog when I can be running around outside having fun! But here’s a playful “get you in the summertime mood” mix to enjoy.

Jott

In: Personal, Productivity

Jott is the hot new DIY personal secretary via your cell phone. It is a free mobile/online service that enables you to take down voice notes and memos to your Jott inbox or other applications (e.g. Facebook status, Google Calendar, notorious Twitter, Gmail, etc) by talking to a recorder which takes the message and converts [...]

Flock

In: Engagement, Personal, Productivity

If the web is turning 2.0, why aren’t browsers? Well, one is. I just bumped into Flock today and decided to try it out, as I seemed to have fit all of its symptoms. Am I a shareaholic? Yes. Do I always want to be connected? Yes. Will I appreciate drag and drop uploading and [...]

Nike Extra Credit

In: Personal

It’s been several weeks since I’ve purchased my Nike+ iPod kit and I haven’t really taken advantage of it because it’s been really buggy. It wouldn’t sync up to my iPod and told me to upgrade to software that isn’t even out yet. Frustrated, I sort of just let it sit there in the corner [...]

Vidnik

In: Having Fun, Personal

Just ran past Vidnik, a new widget via Google Developer’s Playground, that allows Mac users to save and upload videos that they record via the built-in iSight cam quickly to YouTube. Despite being very (video) camera-shy, I thought I would give it a try for a personal video diary (sorry, the J-A does not do [...]

Nike-

In: Personal, Product Design

So my Nike+ iPod kit hasn’t been working quite as well as expected. The sensor doesn’t seem to want to sync up to my iPod. On the Apple Support site, it says that I need to have the most up to date iTunes/iPod software (v 1.2) but the highest that it will allow me to [...]

Nike+

In: Personal

Today I finally resolved to start running again (yes, quite a late new year’s resolution, I know). Actually, technically, it was more about collecting the motivation TO run in the near future. I walked from 95th to 57th, through Central Park, down to the Apple Store. Purchased the Nike+ iPod kit and then walked another [...]

MUXTAPE : a fabulously simple and slick social music sharing site
So back in HS, I’d exchange real mixtapes with friends. I was introduced to Muxtape through a buddy who made an awesome mix for me. Very cool. I hear it also works on the iPhone (don’t have one to try it on though).
Enjoy my mix: [...]

Refresh

In: Personal, Productivity

I love spending weekends up at my parents’ place to re-energize my entire being. There’s time to enjoy home-cooked meals, nature, and undisturbed sleeping in (no honking, sirens, jackhammers, roommates). In addition, I spend a lot of time catching up on reading (blogs, mostly) and knowledge building. And best of all, it’s far away from [...]

Why be an advocate?

Because good ideas deserve to be recognized and good design should be impossible to ignore. Because in this message-muddled world, there are still some lines that can catch my eye and win me over. Because the world has never been changed by indifference. Because there are people, places, products and punchlines that have inspired me- and could very likely inspire you too. Because I still need a place to release some personal revelations, raves and rants. Because it's just too damn hard to keep it all to myself.
